About Rovai AI

Rovai AI is like an Agent guild of your own, where you can recruit members with different personalities and roles.
Together, they explore, discuss, and act on real tasks — building
team chemistry and collaborative memory along the way.

Core Capabilities

| Core capability | What it means in Rovai |
| --------------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Long-lived members | Preserve each member's enduring identity, appearance, responsibilities, and working style so they can rejoin the team across Camps and Tasks. |
| Camp collaboration | Organize shared conversations, long-lived members, Tasks, attachments, and execution state around one objective, reducing the context users must carry between separate windows. |
| Role-based collaboration | Turn paired questioning, document-informed decision-making, code review, and group discussion into repeatable ways for a team to work together. |
| Tasks and ownership | Give ongoing work a title, owner, and state so unfinished work remains trackable and can be picked up by another member. |
| Member handoffs | Use @mentions, the default Lead, direct replies, and A2A routing to pass questions, conclusions, and next actions to the right member. |
| Visible execution | Inspect tool calls, process state, intermediate results, and final delivery in an independent execution console instead of hiding real work behind a single completion message. |
| Approvals, evidence, and recovery | Require explicit approval for important actions, preserve reviewable execution evidence, and continue from existing state after interruption. |
| Collaborative memory | Preserve important decisions, lessons, and team habits so members gradually understand how this team has solved problems together. |
| Native capability compatibility | Use a generic ACP Adapter to connect Agent Runtimes that support ACP while preserving their native models, permissions, Skills, MCP, and session capabilities whenever possible. |

These capabilities are not isolated features. They are connected by one collaboration architecture:

What's new in 0.5.1

This release brings team presets to mission creation, improves conversation references and execution status, and fixes several agent runtime issues.
- [Feature] Use saved teams when creating missions. Choose an existing teammate lineup, lead, and collaboration guidance, or set up a custom roster. Expand long guidance to read it in full. Additional teammates mentioned in the description also join the mission.
- [Interaction] Improve conversation and mission references. Long titles are ellipsized to fit the input and message bubble, with full titles available in the details. In the public @ picker, use Tab or Shift+Tab to switch between teammates, conversations, and missions, then Enter to insert a reference.
- [Interaction] Make startup and stop feedback consistent. Show a single startup status, distinguish preparation from queued messages, and retain existing content and execution steps while stopping, with fewer duplicate notices.
- [Fix] Fix Claude Code remaining in a running state after approval. If the native process has exited without returning its tool result, finish the execution as interrupted while retaining an unknown result for the affected operation.
- [Fix] Restore startup with newer Copilot CLI releases. Update launch arguments for compatibility with Copilot CLI 1.0.103.
- [Fix] Use consistent command search paths for runtime checks. Startup, rediscovery, and individual checks now use the same path capture policy. Clicking Check refreshes the paths, reducing repeated detection failures when launching from the macOS Dock.
- [Fix] Show complete diffs for Command Code writes from empty content. Successful writes to new or empty files now show added line counts and the full diff instead of only a file operation.
- [Improvement] Reduce duplicate MCP configuration snapshots. Reuse the snapshot when recovering the same execution, and clean up abandoned temporary Grok MCP plugins at startup.
Thanks to @arschlochnop for reporting the Claude Code approval and runtime detection issues (#889, #891).
