About flip
flip sends the page-turn key to a window you choose, captures a screen region after each redraw settles, and repeats - then hands you a folder of images or an assembled PDF. Windows, Go + Wails, no cgo.
Capture a region of your screen, page by page, into images or a PDF.

flip v0.1.1
flip captures a document one page at a time. Point it at a window, drag a box
around the page, and it turns each page, waits for the redraw to settle, and
captures it - until you have a folder of images or a single PDF.
What changed since v0.1.0
• Light/dark theme toggle in the title bar. The choice is remembered across
restarts.
• Links moved. The author's GitHub account was renamed from hoijun-kim to
hoijunkim, so the repository is now github.com/hoijunkim/flip, the landing
page hoijunkim.github.io/flip, and the winget package hoijunkim.flip. Old
links survive only while GitHub redirects the previous account name, which
stops if someone else claims it.
• CI now asserts cgo-free correctly. The old check compared against an array
rather than a string, so it could pass without proving anything.
Install: download the zip, unblock it (right-click the zip > Properties >
Unblock, or it stays flagged as downloaded), extract flip.exe, and run it. No
installer, nothing written outside where you point it.
This build is not code-signed. Windows SmartScreen will warn on first run:
"More info" > "Run anyway". That warning is expected for an unsigned exe from a
small project, not a sign of anything wrong; verify the download with the
published SHA-256 if you want certainty.
What flip does not do:
• It does not defeat capture protection. A DRM reader (some ebook viewers) tells
Windows not to let its window be captured, so a capture of it reads solid
black - flip detects that at preflight and stops rather than working around
it. Use flip on content that is yours to reproduce.
• It is Windows-only.
Before you trust a long capture, check these once on your setup (they have
been built and unit-tested but never run end to end on the author's machine):
1. The abort key. Start a capture and press Ctrl+Shift+F9 - it must stop
the run. flip takes over the keyboard while capturing; this is how you get
out.
2. Your viewer accepts the page-turn key. Some viewers ignore synthetic
input. Preflight cannot tell in advance - the first few pages will.
3. Integrity. If your document viewer runs elevated and flip does not,
preflight marks the target "cannot send keys" - run flip as administrator, or
the target at the same level.
4. One real page turn. Capture five pages and check the count matches the …
