About Gleanvolt

A standalone background service for managing and monitoring a SolaX X3-HYB-G4 PRO hybrid inverter and a SolaX X1/X3-HAC EV charger. It operates entirely within the local network over Modbus TCP, with no cloud dependency, so polling is immediate and the data stays on the premises.
It reads PV generation, battery state of charge and grid power flow, and uses them to drive EV charging and home-battery use from household surplus: charging the car on live solar, holding the battery back when the forecast says it will be needed, and targeting a departure time. A web UI is built in, and it can publish itself to Home Assistant over MQTT.
The built-in web interface requires a password. A fresh installation serves only the page that asks you to set one, and shows no history and no controls until you have; it then asks you to sign in. Authentication can be switched off deliberately for an isolated network, which is not the default. The interface speaks plain HTTP, so it belongs on a network you trust or behind a TLS proxy.
This build is free for any noncommercial purpose under the PolyForm Noncommercial License 1.0.0. Commercial use requires a separate licence -- see the LICENSE file.

What's new in 1.0.12

Install
Debian, Ubuntu, Raspberry Pi OS (64-bit)
Installs the controller and its web UI as a systemd service, started with the default
configuration. Run it again to upgrade; settings and data are kept.
curl -fsSL https://github.com/mpospisil/gleanvolt/releases/latest/download/install.sh | sudo sh
Or by hand, choosing amd64 or arm64:
wget https://github.com/mpospisil/gleanvolt/releases/download/v1.0.12/gleanvolt_1.0.12_arm64.deb
sudo apt install ./gleanvolt_1.0.12_arm64.deb
Then open http://<device>:8090 and set your inverter and charger addresses in
/etc/gleanvolt/gleanvolt.env.
Docker
docker pull ghcr.io/mpospisil/gleanvolt:1.0.12
Or download a self-contained build below and run it — no .NET installation needed.
gleanvolt-1.0.12-win-x64.zip for Windows, linux-arm64 for a Raspberry Pi,
linux-x64 for an x64 Linux host or NAS.
The .nupkg files are the libraries, for building on the controller directly.
They are attached here rather than pushed to a feed.
Verify your download
SHA256SUMS covers every file here. From the directory you downloaded into:
sha256sum -c --ignore-missing SHA256SUMS
--ignore-missing because you have probably taken one file rather than all of them.
On Windows, without installing anything:
Get-FileHash gleanvolt-1.0.12-win-x64.zip -Algorithm SHA256
and compare it with the line in SHA256SUMS. PowerShell prints the hash in upper case;
the file lists it in lower case, and they are the same hash.
Each zip, .deb, install.sh and .nupkg also carries a build provenance attestation, which says
which workflow run and which commit produced it rather than only that the bytes are
unchanged. That needs no trust in this page:
gh attestation verify gleanvolt-1.0.12-linux-arm64.zip --repo mpospisil/gleanvolt
