PasteBridge sits between your clipboard and AI apps. While ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot, Cursor, a terminal coding agent or another AI app is in the foreground, the AI Shield replaces API keys, passwords in config, private keys, emails, phone numbers, card numbers, IBANs and your own listed terms with placeholders such as [EMAIL_1]. Sensitive text in copied screenshots is painted out the same way, and hidden characters that can smuggle instructions to an AI are removed.
Copy the AI's answer and paste it into email, Word or anywhere else, and the placeholders turn back into the real values. You copy and paste exactly as before. Everything runs on your PC; the originals are kept in memory only.
PasteBridge also syncs the clipboard (text, images, files, folders) between your own Windows PCs, on your network or through a relay. Private Link rooms are end-to-end encrypted with a password that never leaves your devices.
The AI Shield is free. Names, organisations and places detection (an on-device model) and sync across networks are part of Pro.
What's new in 1.4.1
Text in copied screenshots is now read with an English language file that ships with the app, so reading a picture makes no network request. Until 1.4.1 that file was downloaded once, the first time a picture was copied.
