Pure Clash manages configuration subscriptions, proxy groups, connections, and real-time traffic through a clean, fast native interface, while securely controlling an independently running Mihomo kernel—without rewriting proxy protocol stacks or rule engines in Rust. Currently supports Windows x64 and Linux x64 (Wayland / X11); macOS directories and resource boundaries are reserved but not yet implemented.
Features
Kernel Lifecycle: Validates configurations using the same version kernel with -t before startup; child processes are guarded by Job Objects (Windows) or PR_SET_PDEATHSIG (Linux), ensuring the kernel is recycled if the main process exits abnormally; supports manual start/stop and complete cleanup before tray exit.
Config & Subscriptions: Built-in default configuration (DIRECT outbound only), URL subscriptions, and local YAML import via native file picker; all sources undergo structural pre-check and kernel -t validation before atomic saving and activation.
Offline Geo Data: Each installation package includes GeoSite.dat, GeoIP.dat, and Country.mmdb, allowing recovery without internet access; can be explicitly updated in the settings page.
Proxy Groups & Latency Test: Grouped display of subscription nodes; Rule/Global/Direct modes switched in real-time via controller; supports latency testing for single nodes or entire groups, with results color-coded by threshold.
Connections & Real-time Traffic: Polls controller connection snapshots every second, displaying process, destination, chain, rule, and up/down traffic; supports closing single or all connections; overview page shows real-time speed and active connection count.
System Proxy: Windows writes to current user Internet Settings and broadcasts changes via WinINet. Atomically saves original user settings before enabling, and automatically restores them after disabling, stopping the kernel, or abnormal exit.
TUN Mode: Windows elevates kernel privileges via UAC and uses the bundled wintun; automatically rolls back and provides reasons if TUN fails to take effect.
System Integration: Tray icon (synced with status and multi-language), single-instance lock, close to tray, light/dark themes, and Chinese/English interface.
Ultra-low Memory Footprint: The desktop client itself typically consumes less than 50 MB of memory (excluding the Mihomo kernel).
