Free, extensible desktop code editor for all developers
Visual Studio Code combines a sleek, minimal interface with powerful editing features and deep customization. Ideal for everything from simple scripts to full-scale software projects, it's free and built for efficiency. Beginners appreciate its ease of use, while expert developers enjoy its rich ecosystem of extensions and advanced tools.
Visual Studio Code works well with many programming languages right out of the box, including JavaScript, Python, and C++. It has a built-in terminal for running commands and scripts without switching windows. Helpful features like IntelliSense offer smart suggestions and highlight errors, making coding a bit easier. Git support is also built in, so users can manage version control directly from the editor without extra tools.
Powerful, customizable code editor with smooth performance
One of the highlights of Visual Studio Code is how customizable it is. You can browse a large extension library to add debuggers, language tools, themes, and more. The interface can be adjusted to suit your preferences, and support for the Language Server Protocol allows deeper features for specific languages. Even though it runs on Electron, it performs well across most systems, handling large projects smoothly with the right setup.
