RapidRAW is a modern, high-performance alternative to Adobe Lightroom®. It delivers a simple, beautiful editing experience in a lightweight package (under 20MB) for Windows, macOS, and Linux.
RapidRAW is for photographers who love to edit their photos in a clean, fast, and simple workflow. It prioritizes speed, a beautiful user interface, and powerful tools that let you achieve your creative color vision quickly.
It is not for users who seek absolute, perfect color accuracy. While the results are great for most purposes, the focus is on a fluid, creative process rather than perfect color precision.
RapidRAW is still in active development and isn't yet as polished as mature tools like Darktable, RawTherapee, or Adobe Lightroom®. Right now, the focus is on building a fast, enjoyable core editing experience. You may encounter bugs - if you do, please report them so I can fix them :) Your feedback really helps!
What's new in 1.6.5
I am excited to bring you a new update that is all about image quality, precision color science, and complete workflow freedom. This release tackles core photography fundamentals from the ground up, introducing a camera-accurate Kelvin white balance engine with interactive area sampling alongside an edge-aware guided filter architecture. By replacing conventional blurs with this smarter system, adjustments like clarity, shadows, highlights, and a completely re-engineered whites slider now preserve delicate micro-textures without ever creating unnatural halos around high-contrast edges. Beyond raw rendering quality, this update brings massive quality-of-life upgrades to your daily editing routine. You can now cull shoots in record time using dedicated Pick and Reject flags, tailor the sidebar to your exact habits with fully reorderable and collapsible panels, and take advantage of Apple’s Neural Engine-powered RAW 9 decoder on macOS. I'm also introducing RapidRAW Cloud for effortless, remote GPU generative cleanups without local hardware demands, balanced by a one-click AI-Free Mode for photographers who want a purely traditional, distraction-free editing workspace. New Features Kelvin White Balance with Area Sampling This update completely overhauls how the app handles color temperature, turning white balance into a precise, camera-grade tool. In earlier versions, adjusting temperature and tint relied on rough guesswork sliders and a basic eyedropper that merely sampled a single screen pixel, often leading to uneven or unnatural color shifts. RapidRAW now reads the white balance recorded by your camera in RAW files and lets you toggle into true Kelvin temperatures, ensuring that light adjustments behave just like real-world daylight or warm indoor lamps. image Alongside this, the eyedropper tool has been completely redesigned: as you move across the canvas, a floating preview card displays live color readings, and you can now click and drag a box over any neutral gray or white area to smooth out image noise and calculate the correct balance automatically. Together, these changes make neutralizing unwanted color casts and dialing in the perfect photographic mood both effortless and true to life. image Guided Filter for Edge-Aware Adjustments Fine detail enhancements no longer produce distracting halos. …
Inkscape is an open-source vector graphics editor similar to Adobe Illustrator, Corel Draw, Freehand, or Xara X. What sets Inkscape apart is its use of Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG), an open XML-based W3C standard, as the native format. In contrast to raster (bitmap) graphics editors such as Photoshop or Gimp, Inkscape stores its graphics in a vector format. Vector graphics is a resolution-independent description of the actual shapes and objects that you see in the image. A rasterization engine uses this information to determine how to plot each line and curve at any resolution or zoom level. Contrast that to bitmap (raster) graphics which is always bound to a specific resolution and stores an image as a grid of pixels. Inkscape can import and display bitmap images, too. An imported bitmap becomes yet another object in your vector graphics, and you can do with it everything you can do to other kinds of objects (move, transform, clip, etc.) While Inkscape does not have all the features of the leading vector editors, the latest versions provide for a large portion of basic vector graphics editing capabilities. People report successfully using Inkscape in a lot of very different projects (web graphics, technical diagrams, icons, creative art, logos, maps).
