GTA: Vice City – Definitive varies-with-devices

A modern upgrade to a timeless classic

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City – The Definitive Edition revitalizes the beloved 2002 classic with substantial visual and gameplay enhancements. Set in a vibrant, 1980s-inspired version of Miami, players step into the shoes of Tommy Vercetti, exploring a thrilling narrative filled with crime and ambition, all while enjoying an iconic soundtrack that has become synonymous with the game.

This edition features a complete graphical overhaul, with updated character models and higher resolution textures that make Vice City's neon-lit scenery more captivating. Enhanced lighting effects and improved draw distance create a lively atmosphere, highlighting the glow of neon lights and the shimmer of ocean waters.

Visual and gameplay enhancements

Gameplay mechanics have also been refined, introducing updated aiming controls and a more intuitive weapon wheel, inspired by Grand Theft Auto V. These refinements bring a more contemporary experience to the classic title.

Audio and storytelling features

One standout feature of the Definitive Edition is its inclusion of a genre-defining 1980s-inspired soundtrack, which preserves much of the atmosphere that made the original game iconic. However, some original songs were removed due to licensing limitations, which are noticeable to longtime fans. The voice acting features the return of Ray Liotta as Tommy Vercetti, delivering a memorable performance that contributes to the game’s enduring character.

The core narrative of Tommy's rise within the criminal underworld remains intact, maintaining the structure and storyline of the original 2002 release. This ensures that returning players experience the familiar plot while new players are introduced to the game's classic storytelling style.
